What He CAN Do

Being an optimist, I refuse to focus on the things Simon can’t do. Thinking about his limitations is limited thinking.

So I focus on what he CAN do:
He can talk with visitors
He can fold laundry (children’s laundry is the bane of my existence)
He can help the kids put on their shoes
He can write
He can email
He can watch Weird Al videos on his iPad
He can eat
He can drink (no beer, but thanks for the many offers)
He can shower
He can hang his towel back on the rack
He can put his clothes in the hamper
He can ask for his water cup to be refilled (he is very good at this one)
He can pray
He can cry
He can laugh
He can be sarcastic
He can play games with our kids
He can do homework with the kids (C’mon, school! This mama is ready!)
He can take his meds
He can talk on the phone
He can talk about his dreams
He can talk about his hopes for the future
He can complain about the thickness of his morning milkshakes
He can tell me he loves me
He can tell the kids he loves them

And he can do this:

What a fan picture and positive heart. I positively believe there is a miracle in the Caver family future. Love his “can do” list. Can he receive a visit from the Romo Fam this weekend?

I agree with the comment above. You and Simon both inspire….Praying for Simon and your family. Your optimism is beautiful. I can definitely learn from it. Prayers coming from Austin, Texas (originally from Atlanta, Tx).

He can get better too. I know he will. All things in time. I want to see him again on the Road before I retire. Lots of love to you all.
