The Long Road Home
Nearly 20 of us Californians begin heading to Texas tomorrow by various means of transportation. Simon had specifically requested certain friends to be present for his Texas services and to be pallbearers. We didn’t think every person would be able to make it due to schedules and finances but it is happening. Calls were made. Donors pitched in. Even tonight, someone facing her own brutal battle with cancer that is unfit to travel bought a last minute ticket for one of Simon’s childhood friends who is out of state. Seriously. People are amazing.
Pray for us. Pray for our kids. Pray for Simon’s family. Pray for Simon’s many friends. So many are grieving and so many are still in shock. Pray for the officiants at the service. Simon requested an explicit gospel message before he was ever ill and again on his deathbed. We already know of multiple people that have committed or recommitted their lives to Christ during this journey. Pray for more souls to learn what it’s like to live with hope.
Thank you for your continued comfort and support.
We’ll see you soon, Texas.
Praying for you all. Love you.
Holding you and the kids in my heart and praying.
Still thinking of you, your family is still in my heart. I will think of you all weekend, and wish you strength on such an awful day. Just keep breathing.
“…to live with hope!”
I commend Simon for a gospel message, wanting to reach people for Christ. I feel honored to call him Brother. Way to go Simon!!!
Safe Travels everyone, God be with all of you.

You’ve all been in our prayers. Curt, Robert and I rolled into Round Rock last night after 2 days on the road. Just chilliin’ with Richard’s 2 year old Ryan while he and Curt went to a work event. We’re celebrating Ryan’s birthday this weekend.

I had the pleasure of knowing Simon from his days in elementary school. He was a joy to have in the classroom and there was never a dull moment. I have known his parents all my life. My mom was their high school counselor and my dad knew Tom’s family through the highway dept. My dad and Dr. Stanley were also roommates in college. Simon’s family is an incredible one. After reading your blogs, I am glad to know that Simon found his life-mate in you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family^j^

Hey Kristy, I’ve been following along here and truly encouraged by your raw honesty and transparency. We just keep thinking of Simon and praying for you and the kids–your comfort and care. Thanks for sharing your heart. We will continue to lift you up in prayer.
Praying for you and your wonderful children and all the family as God walks you through this valley having called home a precious son of His.
My family has been praying for you and all of Simon’s family and friends. Praying for God to provide peace and comfort to all. God bless you.
I’ve walked where you are walking now. I know, without a shadow of doubt that God is holding you in the palm of His hand, hiding you in the shadow of His wings. Even in the midst of the devastating grief, you will sense His peace. I am holding you and your family up before the Throne, knowing that God is hearing our prayers on your behalf. Love and blessings.
Praying for all of you.
Continuous prayers for you and your lovely family! Safe travels and may God be with you <3
