One Month Ago: The To-Do List
One month ago today, it was Father’s Day. Simon worked out in our yard for three hours. He finally finished ripping out the massive bougainvillea that was terrorizing our back fence. I was working on a to-do list for the week. Here’s that list:
Monday
Drop off kids at school, all need lunches packed
Pick up oldest kid after work
Buy diapers for baby shower
Buy present for friends that gave us honey
Tuesday
Take girls to park
Watch son’s friend
Take son and friend to cub scouts
Wednesday
Drop off girls at school, no lunches (hot lunch)
Take son to breakfast
Buy present for birthday party
Hair appointment
Simon to pick up girls
Buy present for bridal shower
Go to dress fitting for brother’s fiance
Thursday
Take kids to How to Train Your Dragon 2
Go to dessert place with Groupon
Friday
Doctor’s appointment for Simon
I made it through the first item for Monday (Fine, and #4 for Wednesday. I hate roots.) That Monday night, I went to the ER at the hospital where I work. Simon was having some pain and left work early.
Then it was cancer.
Then the To-Do list became much, much shorter.
Today
Stop this cancer
Spend time with the ones we love
